Dallas is a veritable playground for urban explorers, whether you've got a couple hours or an entire day to devote to enjoying the best the city (and surrounding area) has to offer.

A Couple Hours
- Stroll around Deep Ellum. The neighborhood Kimpton Pittman Hotel calls home is a paradise of eclectic bars, restaurants, live music venues and street art.
- Do it for the ‘gram. Check out Reunion Tower, where you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the city from the observation deck or gaze upon the Giant Eyeball just outside the City Center, which is exactly as described.
- Check out the Dallas Farmers Market where you can browse the fresh produce, meats, cheeses and more at the open-air pavilion or explore the food hall and sample something tasty.

Half A Day
- Head over to the Design District near the Trinity River. This revitalized former industrial area of Dallas is a fun mix of art galleries, clothing boutiques, interior design shops and high-end restaurants.
- Just a 4-minute drive from the hotel, is the Perot Museum of Nature and Science where you can marvel at the architecture of the museum itself before going inside to explore its 5 levels of interactive exhibits, permanent collections, films and more.
- About a one-mile walk from the hotel is the Dallas Arts District, recognized as the largest urban arts district in the US. There you'll find the renowned Nasher Sculpture Center and the Dallas Museum of Art. You can also take some time to soak up the sun in Klyde Warren Park.

A Full Day
- Have a day in nature and head to White Rock Lake, a bit northeast of Downtown Dallas. Picnicking, a hike and bike trail, kayak rentals and perhaps the biggest draw, the lovely Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, await.
- Just 40 minutes from Dallas, Fort Worth is "where the West begins" and an easy daytrip. Be sure to explore the Culture District, with its museums and gardens and the Stockyards National Historic District where you can watch a cattle drive, learn to throw a lasso and get a taste of classic Texas history.
- Kids tagging along? The Dallas Zoo and the Dallas World Aquarium are always a good time. Or if you're willing to have a real kid's day out, Six Flags is just a 22-minute drive away in Arlington.
